Nikon has unveiled the NIKKOR Z 17-28mm f/2.8, price tag $1,196.95, a new ultra-wide-angle zoom lens that offers a fixed f/2.8 aperture throughout the focal range.
The constant f/2.8 promises better low-light performance and more control over depth of field. It joins Nikon’s NIKKOR Z 28-75mm f/2.8 in giving photographers f/2.8 coverages from 17mm to 75mm.
The lightweight and compact lens is 30% smaller compared to Nikon’s NIKKOR Z 14-24mm f/2.8S and boasts a nine-blade aperture and an internal zooming mechanism.
Other features include a 67mm filter thread, stepping motor AF system and compatibility with both FX and DX format Nikon Z series mirrorless cameras. On the APS-C format DX series cameras, the new NIKKOR Z 17-28mm f/2.8 will offer an equivalent focal length of 25-42mm.
