Jon Black from the Crazy Lure Tackle shop in Cape Coral Florida caught the largest bottom fish ever from a Kayak in Sanibel Florida. Watch as he screams for his life trying to land this Giant Goliath Grouper. This is the Raw Footage of the take along with a quick slow motion rod break. This fish measured at 83 inches long and over 73 inches in girth putting estimated weight at 552 pounds(per Rough estimate for bass, per Outdoor Life and Hal Schramm on FWC website) Photos and Video taken consistent with the methods approved in State of Florida vs Robert Johnson

  1. Couldn't help but notice that he is tied to the structure behind him. How's that really different than just standing on the structure. Just seems to me that's not really catching a fish from a kayak. If he wasn't tied off he might still be getting dragged around .

  2. oh brother. I know I'm probably gonna catch it but dang if I don't feel sorry for that big ol ugly fish! he has lived a long time to grow as big as that and to fight so hard to live….awww…..take a photo and throw him back !
